SAMPLE SCRIPT
Hi, I'm _______. I live in ____________. I'm calling about the expansion of Shore Line East service to New London. I cannot believe Governor Malloy is not following through with weekend service. The delay is unacceptable and makes no sense! The rivers are not full of boats waiting an extra few minutes for a bridge opening in the winter! And in the summer, there are fewer trains running on the weekends, so the boaters will not have too many additional wait times. Bring the trains. Share the bridge. Support the economic development of Southeast Connecticut and give us some relief from a congested I-95.

The mission of the Shore Line East Coalition is to extend the existing New Haven to Old Saybrook Shore Line East commuter service one more stop to New London and bring frequent, reliable, and affordable commuter rail service to the commuters, tourists, and residents of southeastern Connecticut.
We hope to accomplish our goal by:
- Raising awareness of the Shore Line East expansion project
- Garnering an active and vocal group of supporters: businesses, property owners, commuters, tourists, etc.
There are 28 train stations on CT’s I-95 corridor…
…only New London and Mystic do not have frequent, reliable and affordable commuter rail service!
The Shore Line East Coalition began as a subcommittee of New London’s City Center District. The Coalition was formed in May 2008 after the recognition by CCD that the extension of Shore Line East service to New London would provide significant economic benefits to businesses in the region and to residents and travelers looking for alternatives to the high cost of gasoline prices. OneMoreStop.net offers information about Shore Line East and the proposed expansion project and the many reasons to bring Shore Line East service to New London, as well as ways you can help bring Shore Line East to southeastern Connecticut.

Governor Rell Promises Trains in December
Read Governor Rell’s Press Release…
Governor Rell has promised to begin SLE service to New London this year. In fact this summer, DOT proposed that the new service would start in December and include an additional 12 daily trains and 8-10 weekend trains.
Unfortunately Governor Rell is hearing from members of the CMTA, a powerful lobbying group, that opposes the expansion and wants to limit the number of trains to and from New London.
Thousands of Southeastern CT residents including many recreational boaters support commuter rail expansion to New London and understand the economic and environmental benefits of train service far outweigh the short delays of additional draw bridge closings to boaters.
We need a reliable alternative to I-95 which is crowded, dangerous, and under construction once again.
Let Governor Rell know that the expansion of the Shore Line East to New London must be on par with other shore line communities. To get there, we must have the additional 12 daily trains and 8-10 weekend trains that DOT has proposed to begin as proposed in December.
